Trent Glass is currently upgrading the glazing at a home near Wollaton Park that is approximately 125 years old. The project replaces the original single glazing with vacuum glass while retaining the existing timber windows.
Keeping the original timber windows
The existing wooden frames are an important part of the house’s character. This project focuses on changing the glass within those frames, preserving the familiar appearance of the windows as the glazing is upgraded.
From single glazing to vacuum glass
The photographs show the window, a vacuum glass unit prepared for the project, and a close-up of the timber frame during the work. The detail photograph records the exposed glazing rebate as the old glazing materials are removed and the frame is prepared for reglazing.
A project in progress
