Double Glazing Units

Double Glazing Units

Sealed double-glazed insulating glass units combining two panes with an argon-filled cavity for superior thermal insulation and noise reduction.

Double glazing units (DGUs) from Trent Glass are sealed insulating glass assemblies consisting of two glass panes separated by a spacer bar and filled with dry inert gas — typically argon — to deliver excellent thermal and acoustic performance. Manufactured to BS EN 1279 with warm-edge spacer technology, our DGUs are the volume-standard specification for residential and commercial glazing across the UK.

Each unit is factory-sealed with a dual-seal system (polyisobutylene primary + silicone or polysulfide secondary) for long-term airtight integrity and condensation resistance.

Key Features

  • Thermal Insulation — U-values from 1.4 W/m²K down to 1.0 W/m²K with Low-E coating
  • Noise Reduction — Rw values up to 40 dB with asymmetric pane configurations
  • Argon-Filled Cavity — 16 mm standard, reducing heat transfer by ~15% vs air-filled
  • Warm-Edge Spacer — Reduces edge cold-bridging and condensation risk
  • Dual Seal System — Long-life airtight seal per BS EN 1279 Part 2 & 3
  • Certification — CE / UKCA marked, tested to BS EN 1279 durability standards

Ideal Applications

  • Residential windows and doors
  • Commercial curtain walling
  • Office glazing and partitions
  • Public buildings (schools, hospitals, offices)
  • Retrofit projects requiring Building Regulations Part L compliance
  • Sound-sensitive environments (roadside, urban)
